BELGIUM: KSC De Schroevers Moorsel

Exterkenstraat, Moorsel O-Vl (K Sportclub De Schroevers Moorsel)

Belgium, province: East Flanders

8 III 2020 / KSCDS Moorsel - VC Herzele-Ressegem 0-4 / East Flanders, Provincial League 3D (= BE level 8)

Note: according to some senior supporters of the club I was having a chat with while visiting the ground, most plausibly, the rather unusual name 'De Schroevers' is derived from 'schroeven' (literally: to screw!) which in pre-World War II local dialect allegedly meant 'to tackle'.

BELGIUM: K Borsbeek Sport (1963-2020)

Terrein Boechoutsesteenweg, Borsbeek (formerly K Borsbeek Sport)

Belgium, province: Antwerp

1 III 2020 / K Borsbeek Sport - KVNA Wortel 2-3 / Antwerp, Provincial League 3A (= BE level 8)

Note: Borsbeek Sport, founded in 1942, played at the ground shown in the photos below from 1963 onwards. The club ceased all activities after the 2019/2020 season; in fact, the match at which I was present, was the club's first team's last home match - due to the Covid pandemic, the season was cut short in mid-March 2020.

BELGIUM: VC Eendracht Sint-Pietersveld

Sportpleinen R.O.G., Doomkerke Blauwhuis (formerly VC Eendracht Sint-Pietersveld)

Belgium, province: West Flanders

March 2020 / no match visited

Note 1: the pitch shown in the pictures below was home to VC Eendracht Sint-Pietersveld, a recreational football team of pupils of the so-called Ecole the Bienfaisance Ruysselede, later renamed Rijksopvoedingsgesticht (R.O.G.) Ruiselede, a former boarding school for troubled youths, founded in the mid-19th century on a vast estate not far from the village of Doomkerke, half way between Ruiselede and Wingene. While the main building of the estate is nowadays used by a state-run youth delinquency centre, the sports facilities seem to have fallen into disrepair - which include the football pitch. Apparently, there once was a club called VC Eendracht Sint-Pietersveld, who were not affiliated to the Belgian Football Association, but competed in local recreational football leagues. Any information regarding the age of the wooden stand and the years of existence of the club have so far eluded me; additional information is more than welcome - feel free to leave a message or contact me.

Note 2: the first two photos below are obviously not my work, but postcards showing the entrance of the ground as well as a match photo (both undated).
