Belgium, province: West Flanders

8 I 2011 / FC Helkijn - FC Gullegem 3-3 / West Flanders, Provincial League 2B (= BE level 6)

Note 1: FC Helkijn, the first football club in the bilingual twin villages of Spiere (Espierres) and Helkijn (Helchin), saw the daylight in 1969 (matricule 7306). The club originally played their football at a ground at Scheldekaai in Helkijn, but moved to the newly built Stadion Michelsberg in 1986 or 1987. The club played at Provincial League 1 level between 2012 and 2015, but folded in 2016 due to financial difficulties. That same summer, a new club was founded, Jong Helkijn (matricule 9663), originally only consisting of a youth academy, but fielding a first team as well from 2018 onwards. In 2019, the decision was taken upon to move first team football to the old ground in Helkijn, while the youth teams continue to train and play in Spiere.
