Timeline

± 1966 / Sometime between 1961 and 1971, three football pitches are laid out Rue Chant d’Oiseaux (Vogelenzangstraat) in Anderlecht, the southwesternmost municipality of Greater Brussels (reorganised as the Brussels-Capital Region in 1989). These are now the three pitches on the eastern side of the Complexe du Vogelenzang. Nothing is known about clubs using the pitches before the turn of the century, but the park must have been primarily in use by recreational football teams – who have continued to make use of the facility until the present day.
± 1974 / Between 1971 and 1977, two more pitches are added to the set-up at Complexe du Vogelenzang, to the southwest of the three original pitches, with Terrain 4 being positioned end-to-end with Terrain 3, and Terrain 5 end-to-end with Terrain 2. Terrain 1, one of the three original pitches, runs parallel to the Rue Chant d’Oiseaux.
2018 / With a synthetic pitch having been laid out on Terrain 5 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang previously, Terrain 2 is now also equipped with a 3G pitch.
2019 / Foundation of a football club in Anderlecht, Racing Anderlecht, which joins the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB) with registration number 9723. Starting its existence in Provincial League 3, the club plays its home matches on Terrain 2 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang.
2021 / Having played on Terrain 5 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang in the past years, Provincial League 3 side FC Anderlecht-Milan (founded in 2003, registration number 9439) moves its first team football to Terrain 2.
2022 / Having managed two seasons – both being interrupted by successive COVID lockdowns – with a first team on Terrain 2 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang, Racing Anderlecht now withdraws from first team football halfway through the 2021-22 season, in February 2022. Since, the club has not had a first team, continuing its existence with lower teams on Terrain 1. Also in 2022, FC Anderlecht-Milan moves its first team football back from Terrain 2 to Terrain 5 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang after one season, continuing to make use of Terrain 2 for lower team football and training sessions. Meanwhile, a newly founded club, Anderlecht Youth Talents (registration number 9778), enters a first team in Provincial League 3, settling on Terrain 2 of Complexe du Vogelenzang as well.
2023 / Finishing in third place in its first season in Brabant’s ACFF Provincial League 3A, Anderlecht Youth Talents qualifies for the promotion play-offs, knocking out BX Brussels B in R1 (2-5), but bowing out in R2 against FC Kosova Schaerbeek B (3-0). Meanwhile, after one year of playing on Terrain 5 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang, FC Anderlecht-Milan resettles its first team, competing in Provincial League 3, on Terrain 2.
2024 / Runaway champions in Brabant’s ACFF Provincial League 3A, 20 points ahead of closest followers Black Star FC, Anderlecht Youth Talents wins promotion to Provincial League 1. In the new season, the club moves its first team football to Terrain 5 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang, while continuing to make use of Terrain 2 for lower team football and training sessions. Meanwhile, FC Anderlecht-Milan, changing its name to become FC Anderlecht Sport Milan, abandons the Complexe du Vogelenzang following the 2023-24 season, resettling to the adjacent Sint-Niklaasinstituut with its first team as well as its academy. Also in 2024, another club playing its football at Complexe du Vogelenzang, Anneessens 25 Brussels (founded as FC Jorez Sport Anderlecht in 2016 and joining the Belgian FA with registration number 9668, but taking on the name Anneessens following a takeover in 2019 and moving from the Stade Frank Vercauteren to Complexe du Vogelenzang that same year) moves its first (and only) team, which competes in Provincial League 3, from Terrain 5 to Terrain 2. Lastly, still in 2024, academy club FC Wolves Brussels (founded in 2021 as Wolves Academy and joining the Belgian FA as FC Wolves Brussels one year later with registration number 9788), moves its activities from the Plaine des Sports Corneille Barca terr. 2, elsewhere in Anderlecht, to Complexe du Vogelenzang terr. 2.
2025 / After one year on Terrain 5 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang, Anderlecht Youth Talents moves its first team football back to Terrain 2. Meanwhile, FC Wolves Brussels changes its name to become Olympic Wolves Brussels, while also entering a first team in Provincial League 3 for the first time; however, this first team joins FC Anderlecht Sport Milan at the Sint-Niklaasinstituut, while the club continues to make use of Terrain 2 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang for lower team football and training sessions. Also in 2025, the local professional league club, RSC Anderlecht, is allowed to start making use of Terrain 1 and Terrain 2 of Complexe du Vogelenzang for matches and training sessions of a part of their huge youth academy.

Meanwhile, having settled on Terrain 1 of the Complexe du Vogelenzang the previous year after being evicted from the Stade Frank Vercauteren, Provincial League 3 side Generation FEFA (Football-Etudes-Familles) Anderlecht (registration number 9750) now moves to Terrain 2 of the same park under an adapted name, FEF Anderlecht. Also in 2026, Olympic Wolves Brussels moves its youth academy away from the Complexe du Vogelenzang, settling on the synthetic (half) pitch of the CERIA-COOVI academy elsewhere in Anderlecht. Still in 2026, RSC Anderlecht stops making use of Terrain 1 of Complexe du Vogelenzang, which had seen home matches of some of their youth teams in the 2025-26 season, with all remaining teams being moved to Terrain 2 of the same park.
