Timeline
  • 1941 / Foundation of a football club in Maredret and/or its twin village of Ermeton-sur-Biert in the Province of Namur, with the new club being given the name Molignée Sport Maredret and acquiring membership of Belgium's Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB) under registration number 3267. It is unclear if Molignée Sport Maredret played its football on the pitch at Rue Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert from the outset.
  • 1955 / Conquering the title in Namur's Provincial League 1, Molignée Sport Maredret wins promotion to National Division 4 for the first and only time of its existence.
  • 1956 / Finishing bottom of the table in Namur's Provincial League 4C, Molignée Sport Maredret tumbles back into the provincial divisions after just one season, along with R Club Amay Sportif and FC Ham.
  • 1990 / Molignée Sport Maredret concludes a merger with Jeunesse Sportive (JS) Stave from nearby Stave (registration number 8113), resulting in the foundation of Union Sportive (US) Molignée-Stave, with Molignée Sport's registration number 3267 being retained. Henceforth, first team football is placed at Rue Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert, with the pitch at Rue des Marchets in Stave being retained for lower team football and training sessions.
  • 1991 / As the club celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 1991, it may have been in this year that US Molignée-Stave took on the royal epithet, thus becoming Royale Union Sportive (RUS) Molignée-Stave.
  • 2006 / RUS Molignée-Stave changes its name to become RUS Molignée Sport.
  • 2009 / Finishing bottom of the table in Namur's Provincial League 1, RUS Molignée Sport suffers relegation to Provincial League 2, along with JS Eghezée, RCS Schaltin, JS Morialmé, and Standard Flawinne FC. Following the 2008-09 season, the club changes its name to become US Mettet-Molignée following the demise of Provincial League 4 side R Wallonia Sporting Club (RWSC) Mettet. Given that no official merger is concluded, Mettet's much lower number (297) is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists. Henceforth, first team football is played at Rue Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert, with the pitch at Rue Saint-Job in Mettet being retained for lower team football and training sessions. The name change may well have coincided with the pitch at Rue des Marchets in Stave being abandoned.
  • 2011 / Finishing in fifth place in Namur's Provincial League 2B, US Mettet-Molignée qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is knocked out in R1 by RCS Schaltin (4-3).
  • 2012 / In its last season as an independent club, US Mettet-Molignée finishes in eleventh place in Namur's Provincial League 2B. Following the 2011-12 season, the club is absorbed by Entente Sportive (ES) Biesmerée, resulting in the foundation of Entente Sportive (ES) de la Molignée, which takes on Biesmerée's registration number 3143; number 3267 of US Mettet-Molignée is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists. Henceforth, first team football is played at Rue du Fourneau in Biesmerée, while the pitch at Rue du Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert is retained for lower team football and training sessions. The merger may well have coincided with the pitch at Rue Saint-Job in Mettet being abandoned.
  • 2013 / After a dispute with Mettet's municipal authorities, ES de la Molignée loses the right to use the pitch at Rue Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert for training and lower team football, with the ground being passed on to Union Saint-Gérard, a club which up to then had disposed of just one pitch. This club never used the pitch for first team football, but exclusively for lower team football and training purposes.
  • 2020 / US Saint-Gérard abandons its training pitch at Rue Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert, which has not been used by any other football club since. Instead, the pitch is used for village festivals and recreational purposes by the inhabitants of Ermeton-sur-Biert and Maredret.
