BELGIUM: SK Laerehof (1984-1999) / SK Kampelaar (1999-2017) / Sporting Kampenhout (B) (2017-2022)

Votvinkenstraat, Kampenhout (formerly SK Kampelaar / B ground of Sporting Kampenhout)

Belgium, province: Flemish Brabant

June 2017 / no match visited

Note: Recreational football club SK Laerehof, founded in 1983, played their football at a ground referred to as 'Stukadoors' near the Gemeenschapsschool Ter Bronnen for one season before moving to the ground at Votvinkenstraat shown in the pictures below. In 1999, SK Laerehof changed their name to become SK Kampelaar and successfully applied for membership of the Royal Belgian Football Association, obtaining matricule 9341. The highest level attained by Kampelaar was Provincial League 2, where they played for three consecutive seasons before merging with local rivals K Kampenhout SK in 2017 to become Sporting Kampenhout. While first team football has since been played at Kampenhout's ground, Gemeentelijk Stadion 'De Zeype', the premises at Votvinkenstraat will remain in use for training purposes and lower team football until - as the plans currently are - the fall of 2023. In several stages, the first having started in October 2021, the ground is being turned into an extension of the adjacent forest by Natuurpunt, a non-profit organisation which purchased the two pitches from Sporting Kampenhout. Thanks to SK Kampelaar's former presidents Andries Vanhoof and Patrick Crols - Vanhoof was also elected club president of the newly Sporting Kampenhout in 2017 - for providing me with all relevant information!

BELGIUM: JV De Pinte (B) (1988-2014) / JV De Pinte (2014-) / KFC Merelbeke (2018-2023)

Sportpark Moerkensheide, De Pinte (JV De Pinte)

Belgium, province: East Flanders

22 VI 2017 / JV De Pinte - AA Gent 0-2 / Pre-season friendly

Note 1: until 2014, JV De Pinte's first team played its home games at the Sportwegel ground in the centre of De Pinte, which has meanwhile been destructed. Since 1988, training sessions and lower team football took place at Moerkensheide. In March 2014, I took some photos of the old Moerkensheide canteen just before it was knocked down (photos 1-5); as can be seen in the first two photos, the new stand and canteen were virtually ready by then.

Note 2: In 2018, JV De Pinte were joined at Moerkensheide by groundsharers KFC Merelbeke.
