Stade Legrand, Tihange (B ground of R Union Hutoise, formerly B ground of R Union Hutoise FC / A & B ground of RFC Huy / Solières Sport / A ground of RFC Huy)

Belgium, province: Liège = Luik

26 I 2014 / Solières Sport - FC Jeunesse Lorraine Arlonaise 1-1 / National Division 4D (= BE level 4)

Timeline
  • ± 1994 / With construction works on a school and a sports hall at Avenue de la Croix Rouge getting underway – and the club thus being deprived of two of its four pitches at the Stade Communal – municipal authorities allow R Union Hutoise FC (Belgian FA members under registration number 76) the use of a plot of land at Rue Albert Legrand, which possibly already was in use as a football pitch by recreational club FC But. This ‘Site Legrand’ or ‘Stade Legrand’, at the time consisting of one grass pitch and one gravel pitch, comes without dressing rooms or a clubhouse, which are constructed in the following years and inaugurated around the turn of the century.
  • 1995 / Following the 1994-95 season, a merger is concluded between R Union Hutoise FC and Huy Sports, resulting in the foundation of RFC Huy, with Hutoise’s registration number 76 being retained. First team football moves to the Stade Communal (Avenue de la Croix Rouge), with Huy Sports’ small stadium at Rue du Coq being abandoned. The Site Legrand remains in use for part of RFC Huy's youth academy.
  • 2013 / Solières Sport (Belgian FA members club under registration number 9426) from Solières, a tiny village within Huy's municipal borders, wins an unprecedented promotion to the national divisions. Because Solières main pitch at Complexe du Château Vert does not have the correct measurements for national league football, the club has to temporarily move to the synthetic pitch of Site Legrand in Tihange. Meanwhile, a pitch with correct measurements is being put in place on the B pitch of Complexe du Château Vert in Solières.
  • 2014 / Abandoning Site Legrand, Solières Sport moves its first team football back to Complexe du Château Vert – more specifically to the newly laid-out grass pitch to the south of the clubhouse
  • 2020 / Abandoning the Stade Communal at Avenue de la Croix Rouge, RFC Huy moves all its activities to Stade Legrand in Tihange, with first team football being played on the synthetic pitch.
  • 2023 / Following the 2022-23 season, Solières Sport concludes a merger with the club it broke away from in 2002, RFC Huy, forming Royale Union Hutoise, with RFC Huy’s registration number 76 being retained. First team football moves to the synthetic pitch of Solières’ Complexe du Château Vert - that club's A pitch until 2013 - while the new club’s youth academy settles at Site Legrand in Tihange, Huy.
