BELGIUM: SC Feschaux

Terrain de la rue des Stappes, Feschaux (SC Feschaux)

Belgium, province: Namur = Namen

13 IX 2026 / SC Feschaux - ES des Frontières 2-4 / Namur, Provincial League 4C (= BE level 9)

Timeline
  • 1968 / Foundation of a football club in Feschaux, a small village in the Province of Namur, hemmed in between Beauraing and the French border town of Givet; the new club takes on the name Standard Club (SC) Feschaux, with Camil Jaumotte becoming the first chairman and with registration number 7185 being acquired upon being accepted into the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB). SC Feschaux settles on a plot of land owned by a local smallholder, Alfred Wauthier, at Rue des Stappes, where the club has been home ever since. As was customary for emerging clubs in those days, SC Feschaux is placed in Namur’s reserves’ divisions for the 1968-69 season.
  • 1969 / After one season in the reserves’ divisions, SC Feschaux is placed in Namur’s Provincial League 3.
  • 1977 / The municipality of Feschaux is absorbed into the larger entity of Beauraing, with Beauraing’s town council later taking the decision to take over the ground at Rue des Stappes from Alfred Wauthier.
  • ± 1980 / A clubhouse erected in stone is inaugurated at Rue des Stappes, the construction still in use today.
  • ± 1990 / The wooden piece of cover alongside the southern touchline of the pitch at Rue des Stappes is replaced by a small covered stand erected in stone.
  • ± 1992 / SC Feschaux wins promotion to Namur’s Provincial League 2 for the first and only time in its existence so far.
  • 1997 / Having managed a respectable ninth place in Namur’s Provincial League 2C the previous season, SC Feschaux now finishes bottom of the table in that same division, thus dropping back into Provincial League 3.
  • 1998 / Finishing in second-last place in Namur’s Provincial League 3C, SC Feschaux suffers back-to-back relegations, descending into Provincial League 4 along with bottom club RFC Miécret.
  • 2000 / Following a fourth place in Namur’s Provincial League 4B, SC Feschaux is placed in Provincial League 3 due to Provincial League 4 being abolished.
  • 2002 / Finishing in eleventh place in Namur’s Provincial League 3F, SC Feschaux is retrograded into the newly introduced Provincial League 4, along with FC Mesnilois, FC Éprave, JS Focantaise, ES Naomé, Entente Dionaise, US Bohannaise, and bottom club FC Honnay.
  • 2010 / Champions in Namur’s Provincial League 4F, 1 point ahead of closest rivals US Saint-Hadelin Haversin, SC Feschaux wins promotion to Provincial League 3.
  • 2014 / Finishing in second-last place in Namur’s Provincial League 3C, SC Feschaux drops back into Provincial League 4 after four years, alongside US Beauraing 61 B and bottom club RFC Bioul B.
  • 2016 / Runaway champions in Namur’s Provincial League 4D, 16 points ahead of closest followers OC Sommière, SC Feschaux manages a return to Provincial League 3 after an absence of two seasons.
  • 2018 / Finishing in thirteenth place in Namur’s Provincial League 3B, SC Feschaux fails to assert itself in the relegation play-offs, suffering a 1-9 home defeat against R Arquet FC B and not bothering to show up in the second encounter against US Walcourt; and with Arquet B also having the better of Walcourt, that club suffers relegation alongside Feschaux – with RFC Yvoir, R Anhée FC B, and bottom club Entente Mosane being the three other drop-outs from Provincial League 3B.
  • 2024 / In a disastrous season, SC Feschaux only picks up 3 points (1 win) in 26 league games in Namur’s Provincial League 4D in the 2023-24 season, with a goal difference of -191 (20-211), with only the withdrawals of RAS Houyet B and RC Ciergnon in the course of the season saving the club from last place. Generally speaking, since the relegation in 2018, SC Feschaux has had a hard time to compete in Provincial League 4, usually finishing near the bottom of the table.
