BELGIUM: Standard Bruyèretois (1923-1932) / R Alliance Bruyère-Welkenraedt (1932-2015) / RFC Welkenraedt (2015-)

Stade Communal 'La Bruyère', Welkenraedt = Welkenraat (RFC Welkenraedt, formerly Standard Bruyèretois & R Alliance Bruyère-Welkenraedt)

Belgium, province: Liège = Luik

10 XI 2015 / RFC Welkenraedt - RFC 1924 Saint-Vith 0-3 / Liège, Provincial League 2C (= BE level 6)

Note: Standard Bruyèretois, founded in 1923 (matricule 331), concluded a merger with Club Sportif Union (CSU) Welkenraedt-Herbestal (matricule 54, founded in 1911) in 1932, forming Alliance Bruyére-Welkenraedt; according to Belgium's FA rules at the time, a merger club had to apply for a new matricule, and as such Alliance Bruyère-Welkenraedt obtained matricule 1858. Four years after the merger, the club became a Société Royale, thus changing its name to Royale Alliance (RA) Bruyère-Welkenraedt. Never rising above the provincial league level, the club finally concluded a second merger in 2015, this time with its younger and slightly more successful village rivals RCS Welkenraedt (matricule 2667, founded in 1938), resulting in the foundation of RFC Welkenraedt retaining Alliance's matricule. Following the merger, all activities were moved to Alliance's Stade Communal 'La Bruyère', while RCS Welkenraedt's Stade Reine Fabiola was abandoned. In the following years, the ground was thoroughly renovated with the construction of a new clubhouse and a covered stand; the inauguration of the new facilities took place in the spring of 2021.
