NETHERLANDS: SC Neptunus (1945-2011) / RVV Blijdorp (B) (2011-2019)

Familiestadion, Rotterdam Blijdorp (formerly SC Neptunus / training ground of RVV Blijdorp)

Netherlands, province: South Holland = Zuid-Holland

24 VIII 2010 / SC Neptunus - Excelsior Maassluis 1-6 / District West II, Regional Cup - group stage

Note 1: SC Neptunus, founded as RV&AV Neptunus in 1900, moved to the Familiestadion (at the Abraham van Stolkweg) right after World War II; in 1942, a baseball branch had been added to the club. Over the years, Neptunus became one of the Netherlands' most dominant baseball teams, winning multiple national titles. The baseball ground literally eclipsed the football pitch and its stand, which dated back to the early 1920s. Finally, in 2011, SC Neptunus' football club left to merge with RVV Schiebroek '94, forming RVV Neptunus-Schiebroek and playing its football at the latter's Hazelaarweg Zuid ground. From 2011 onwards, the football pitch at the Familiestadion has been used by RVV Blijdorp and Neptunus baseball players as a training ground; in November 2017, the nearly one-hundred-year-old stand was knocked down.
