2 XI 2025 / SV Westendorp - vv Etten 4 3-5 / District East, Sunday Reserves' League 7 - Group 11
Timeline
- 1931 / Foundation of a football club in Westendorp, a village to the east of Doetinchem in the Province of Guelders (Gelderland). The new club, which is given the name vv Westendorp, joins the Geldersche Voetbalbond (GVB), the Guelders sub-branch of the Netherlands' Football Association (KNVB). It is unclear where the ground of this club was situated.
- 1942 / After an existence of eleven seasons, vv Westendorp folds, ceasing all activities.
- 1975 / Foundation of a new football club in Westendorp, which is given the name Sportvereniging (SV) Westendorp. The club plays its football in a local recreational league, along with the likes of DVV from Voor-Beltrum. SV Westendorp played its football at Sportpark De Slotboom from the outset. At that time, there was no clubhouse - members gathered at a local café instead - and an old bus served as changing rooms.
- 1989 / After fourteen years as a recreational club, SV Westendorp joined the Netherlands' Football Association, being placed in the ranks of its sub-branch GVB.
- 1992 / A clubhouse is erected at Sportpark De Slotboom, with the first stone for the new construction being laid by SV Westendorp's chairman J.H.M. Ikink.
- 1996 / As the GVB and all other KNVB sub-branches are abolished in a reorganisation of the non-league pyramid, SV Westendorp is placed in District East's Sunday League 6.
- 2013 / As Sunday League 6 is abolished in District East, SV Westendorp is placed in Sunday League 5 for the new season.
- 2020 / SV Westendorp concludes a merger with the local gymnastics and volleyball club SEV Westendorp, with the clubname SV Westendorp remaining unchanged.
- 2021 / After the 2020-21 season, cut short due to the second COVID lockdown in the fall of 2020, SV Westendorp withdraws its first team from Sunday League 5, continuing with just one recreational team competing in the reserves' leagues.
- 2022 / After spells at Sportpark Veldhoek in De Veldhoek (2001 to February 2022) and Buitencentrum Kerkemeijer in Borculo (February-September 2022), the so-called Gelderse Keepersschool (GKS), a goalkeepers' academy founded and led by former BV De Graafschap goalkeeper trainer Edwin Susebeek, settles at Sportpark De Slotboom as groundsharers of SV Westendorp.
