Belgium, province: West Flanders = West-Vlaanderen

6 IX 2026 / FCRW Wymar Oeselgem - FC 't Postje Wielsbeke 3-5 / VLVB Sunday Provincial League 1

Timeline
  • 1952 / Foundation of a factory for household items in Oeselgem, a village in the Province of West Flanders, on its eastern border with East Flanders; the factory takes on the name Wymar, progressively focusing on PVC windows and doors in the following decades.
  • 1972 / Foundation of a recreational football team for workers of the Wymar factory, with the team taking on the name Wymar Oeselgem, settling on a pitch laid out at Deinzestraat, referred to locally as Terrein De Borre. Wymar Oeselgem joins the Saturday divisions of the Voetbalverbond (VV) Deinze competition.
  • 1977 / Wymar Oeselgem wins promotion from VV Deinze Division 2 to Division 1.
  • 1978 / Joining the Saturday team of Wymar Oeselgem at Terrein De Borre, a Sunday team now sees the daylight under a slightly different name, Football Club Rood Wit (FCRW) Wymar Oeselgem. FCRW Wymar Oeselgem joins the LVU, a local recreational league from Courtray comparable to the VV Deinze. VV Deinze and the LVU later merged with an association from Tielt to become the West Flanders branch of the Belgian (Flemish) association for recreational clubs, the KBLVB (Koninklijke Belgische Liefhebbersvoetbalbond); breaking away from the KBLVB, this West Flanders branch became independent as the VLVB (Vlaamse Liefhebbersvoetbalbond) in 1999.
  • ± 2005 / Wymar Oeselgem and FCRW Wymar Oeselgem are joined at Terrein De Borre by another VLVB club, Short Turn United Dentergem, with the two having remained groundsharers until the present day.
  • 2015 / In spite of the Wymar factory in Oeselgem closing its doors, the recreational football club continues its existence under the unchanged name FCRW Wymar Oeselgem.
  • 2016 / FCRW Wymar Oeselgem entertains the so-called Deaf Devils, the Belgian national team of deaf players, at Terrein De Borre, suffering a clear-cut 9-0 defeat on the day.
  • 2025 / FCRW Wymar Oeselgem wins the title in the VLVB Sunday championship, officially called Sunday Provincial League 1 (although being a single-tiered affair).
