NETHERLANDS: EHC (1987-2024) / SV De Dem (2024-)

Sportpark De Dem West, Hoensbroek (SV De Dem, formerly EHC)

Netherlands, province: Limburg

24 IX 2013 / EHC - FC Eindhoven 1-4 / Netherlands' Cup R2

Note - EHC, acronym for Emma-Hoensbroek-Combinatie, saw the daylight in 1964 as a merger of SC Emma and SV Hoensbroek, founded in 1917 and 1920 respectively. Following the merger, first team football was played at SC Emma's Terrein Passartweg, with EHC playing its debut match here against SVN on September 13th, 1964, defeating SVN 2-0; while the youth academy also plays at Passartweg, the lower senior teams settle at SV Hoensbroek's Terrein Terveurdtweg. Abandoning both grounds five years later, EHC played its football at Sportpark Professor Eykmanlaan from 1969 to 1987 before switching to Sportpark De Dem in 1987. The new ground was officially inaugurated on November 9th, 1987, with a gala match against PSV (2-3) attended by over 3,000 spectators. Marred by financial difficulties, EHC folded in April 2024, withdrawing its first team from Sunday League 1. In the following months, a phoenix club was founded, SV De Dem, which took over Sportpark De Dem West.
