NETHERLANDS: VC Vlissingen (1946-1991, 1992-) / VCV Zeeland (1991-1992)

Irislaan Oost, Vlissingen (VC Vlissingen, formerly VCV Zeeland)

Netherlands, province: Zealand

8 V 2011 / VC Vlissingen - TSV LONGA 2-1 / Sunday League 1C (= NL Div. 5)

Note 1: between 1990 and 1992, VC Vlissingen (renamed VCV Zeeland in 1991-1992 in a failed attempt to broaden the appeal in the region) played in Netherlands' League Div. 2 as a professional side, but due to financial mismanagement off the pitch and abysmal results on it (the club finished bottom of the table in both seasons), Vlissingen withdrew to non-league in 1992. VC Vlissingen / VCV Zeeland remains the only-ever professional club from the province of Zealand in the history of Dutch football.

Note 2: a compilation of two photo series, a match visit in May 2011 (photos 4-12) and a non-matchday visit in May 2016 (photos 1-3 & 13-15). Note that, in between these two visits, VC Vlissingen removed the fencing around the pitch which dated back to the professional league days.
