BELGIUM: FC Maison des Jeunes Jemelle (1968-1982) / FC Jemelle (1982-2008) / R Jeunesse Rochefortoise Jemelle Association (B) (2008-± 2015)

Rue de la Lhomme, Jemelle (formerly FC Maison des Jeunes Jemelle / FC Jemelle / B ground of R Jeunesse Rochefortoise Jemelle Ass.)

Belgium, province: Namur = Namen

May 2011 & July 2018 / no match visit

Timeline
  • 1968 / Foundation of a football club in Jemelle, which takes on the name FC Maison des Jeunes Jemelle, acquiring membership of Belgium’s Football Association under registration number 7214. Most probably, the club played its football at Rue de la Lhomme from the outset.
  • 1982 / FC Maison des Jeunes Jemelle simplifies its name to become FC Jemelle.
  • 2008 / After an independent existence of forty years, in which the club never managed to climb out of Namur’s provincial divisions, FC Jemelle concludes a merger with R Jeunesse Rochefortoise FC, resulting in the foundation of Royale Jeunesse Rochefortoise Jemelle Association (RJRJA) – with Rochefortoise’s registration number 2799 being retained and Jemelle’s number 7214 being erased from the Belgian FA’s official lists. First team football moves to Rochefort’s Parc des Roches, with Jemelle’s two pitches at Rue de la Lhomme being retained for lower team football and training sessions for some more time. The new club's youth academy, however, settles at Terrain de Lavaux, also in Jemelle, RJ Rochefortoise FC's academy ground.
  • ± 2015 / The two pitches at Rue de la Lhomme are abandoned.
  • 2016 / The name Royale Jeunesse Rochefortoise Jemelle Association not having proved very evocative, the merger club now takes on the old name Royale Jeunesse Rochefortoise FC, thereby erasing any reference to Jemelle. Meanwhile, the merger club nominally still retains the ground in Jemelle, but does not make use of it every season.
  • 2020 / R Jeunesse Rochefortoise FC concludes a second merger, this time with FC Eprave (registration number 7049), resulting in the foundation of Union Rochefortoise, yet again with Rochefortoise’s number 2799 being retained. The new merger club now disposes of three different grounds; with Terrain de Lavaux in Jemelle being retained for training purposes, first team football is henceforth being played at Parc des Roches in Rochefort proper, with the club’s B team settling at Rue de la Gare in Eprave.
