BELGIUM: K Sporting Ternat (1950-2006) / KSKL Ternat (2006-2010)

Complex 'Kruikenburg', Ternat = Ternath (formerly K Sporting Ternat / KSKL Ternat)

Belgium, province: Flemish Brabant

9 V 2010 / KSKL Ternat - KRC Waregem 2-0 / National League 3A (= BE level 3)

Note 1: Sporting Ternat, founded in 1950 (matricule 5368), concluded a merger with SK Lombeek in 2006, forming K Sporting Klub Lombeek-Ternat, usually abbreviated to simply KSKL Ternat. First team football was played at Ternat's Kruikenberg, while the pitches at Heidestraat in Sint-Katherina-Lombeek remained in use for lower team football and training purposes. In 2010, KSKL Ternat abandoned Complex Kruikenburg in favour of a new, purpose-built ground just down the road at Van Cauwelaertstraat. This Gemeentelijk Sportcentrum Ternat has since hosted KSKL Ternat's and (from 2019 onwards, when a merger was concluded with KFC Wambeek) KFC Wambeek-Ternat's home games. Meanwhile, the old football stadium at Kruikenburg was knocked down and replaced by an elementary school (cp. last photo in the series below). The game I attended in May 2010 may very well have been KSKL Ternat's last home game at Kruikenburg.

Note 2: Below, a compilation of images of three different visits: photos 1-13 = match visit, May 2010 / photos 14-15 = non-matchday visit, November 2010 (when the ground was already unused for several months; possibly still in use for training purposes given that the pitch was obviously still being maintained) / photo 16 = non-matchday visit, March 2022 (elementary school which replaced the ground).
