Plaine de la Trondeloire, Vaulx-lez-Tournai (Renouveau US Tournaisienne, formerly FC Vétérans Vallois, FC Vétérans Vaulx, FC Vaulx, Renouveau US Tournai & Renouveau US Tournai-Warcoing)

Belgium, province: Hainaut = Henegouwen

17 IV 2022 / RUS Tournai-Warcoing - AC Anvaing 1-2 / Hainaut, Provincial League 2A (= BE level 7)

Timeline
  • 1973 / Foundation of FC Vétérans Vallois, a recreational club in Vaulx-lez-Tournai, a village on the eastern outskirts of Tournay. While FC Vétérans Vallois took part in Tournay's Corporatist League, there also was a club in Vaulx taking part in the regular provincial leagues, SC Vallois (matricule 7652), which folded in 1996.
  • 1989 / FC Vétérans Vallois settles down at the new, purpose-built Plaine de la Trondeloire, a mere stone's throw away from SC Vallois's ground at Vieux Chemin de Mons.
  • 2010 / As Tournay's Corporatist League ceases all activities, FC Vétérans Vallois decides to make the leap to Hainaut's regular provincial league pyramid, seeking affiliation to the Royal Belgian Football Association and obtaining matricule 9554 under a slightly adapted name, FC Vétérans Vaulx.
  • 2013 / FC Vétérans Vaulx acquires the only pitch of SC Vallois' former ground, the Stade Philippe Rasseneur, last used by RFC Tournai's women's team. Plaine de la Trondeloire remains the site for first team football, but training sessions and lower team football is  moved to Stade Rasseneur virtually completely.
  • 2014 / Changing its name yet again, FC Vétérans Vaulx becomes FC Vaulx.
  • 2016 / FC Vaulx allows itself to be used as a vehicle in an attempt to revive the days of the former Royale Union Sportive Tournaisienne (matr. 26). This RUS Tournaisienne, a former National Division 1 club which used to play at the mythical Stade Magdeleine Lefebvre, merged with RRC Tournaisienne in 2002, resulting in the foundation of RFC Tournai. Now, in 2016, FC Vaulx changed its name to become Renouveau Union Sportive (RUS!) de Tournai. Although plans were cherished to move to Tournay proper, RUS Tournai started its life at Plaine de la Trondeloire.
  • 2018 / RUS Tournai takes over Stade Prior, in a western part of Tournay, former youth academy of both RUS Tournaisienne (matr. 26) and RRC Tournaisienne. The original purpose of the acquisition being to move RUS Tournai's first team football in here never came to fruition however, mainly due to the premises being vandalised continually. The club abandons Stade Prior in the early months of 2019.
  • 2020 / A merger is concluded between RUS Tournai and Olympic Club (OC) Warcoing, resulting in the foundation of RUS (Renouveau Union Sportive) Tournai-Warcoing. The new club retains Warcoing's matricule 8265, with Tournai's matricule (9554) being erased. While the new merger club were planning to play their first team football at Warcoing's Stade Léon Velge, permission was not granted by the town council of Pecq, the community to which Warcoing belongs - instead, the premises were awarded to AS Obigies, who have since used these for lower team football and training purposes. Thus, RUS Tournai-Warcoing stays at Plaine de la Trondeloire in Vaulx.
  • 2022 / In a predictable move, given that no links with the village of Warcoing had existed since the merger in 2020, RUS Tournai-Warcoing changes its name to become RUS (Renouveau Union Sportive) Tournaisienne.
  • 2023 / Finishing last in P2A, RUS Tournaisienne is relegated to P3 along with R Excelsior Biévène-Bever and Association Montkainoise.
  • 2024 / Finishing last in P3A, RUS Tournaisienne suffers its second relegation in a row, dropping back into Provincial League 4, along with DR Rongy and US Thumaide.
