28 VII 2022 / VC Groot Dilbeek - KFC Wambeek Ternat 2-5 / Pre-season friendly

Note: Dilbeek Sport Club, often abbreviatedly referred to as Dilbeek SC or even DSC, saw the daylight in 1958, joining the Catholic Football Association (Katholiek Sportverbond). Gemeentelijk Sportcomplex Roelandsveld (veld 1) was the club's home from the foundation onwards. In 1960, Dilbeek SC decided to apply for membership of the official Belgian Football Association, receiving matricule 6325. A name change was decided upon in 1995, with Dilbeek Sport Club becoming Dilbeek Sport. In the early 2000s, the club had a successful spell, buying several high-profile players (Eric Viscaal and Rudi Smidts stand out in this respect) and winning promotion to National League 4. For ten years in total (2002-07, 2008-13), Dilbeek Sport played national league football in the fourth division. Following financial difficulties, the club had to go into administration in 2013. A relaunch was undertaken in Provincial League 2 following a merger with neighbouring club VC Groot Bijgaarden (matricule 5981, founded in 1956), resulting in the foundation of VC Groot Dilbeek (retaining Dilbeek's matricule 6325). Groot Bijgaarden's ground at Bosstraat was abandoned, with all activities moving to Dilbeek's Roelandsveldstadion. In 2014, the decision was taken to move first team football to a brand new 3G on pitch 3 of the park, situated on the other side of the club house. Since, the (former) main pitch has been in use for lower team football - including recreational football - and training purposes only.
