BELGIUM: R Rixensart FC (1929-2003)

Complexe Sportif Joseph Verté, Rixensart (formerly R Rixensart FC)

Belgium, province: Walloon Brabant

16 II 2019 / FC Woluwe - Ixelles City 2-0 / ABSSA Div. 4D

Note: In 2003, R Rixensart FC, founded in 1929 (matricule 1464), merged with FC Rosières, forming RAS Rosières-Rixensart; at that point, the club abandoned the Complexe Sportif Joseph Verté, which had been their home for decades. Prior to the construction of this 'Stade Communal', the club's old stadium was already situated here - with the entrance at Avenue Clermont-Tonnerre. After the 2003 merger, all activities moved to Rosières' Rue de la Ferme du Plagniau. Since, the ground in Rixensart saw several seasons without any official football activity, but in recent years several ABSSA teams have moved in, including FC Woluwe & FC EBL. ABSSA (Association Belge du Sport de Samedi) is a league of amateur teams in Brussels and immediate surroundings, not affiliated to the Royal Belgian Football Assocation. Under the auspices of the ABSSA, hundreds of teams play their football in a fully fledged six-division league system.
