BELGIUM: RUS Chestrolaise (1935-2020) / SC Chestrolais (2020-2021) / FC Neufchâteau (2021-)

Stade des Tanneries, Neufchâteau (FC Neufchâteau, formerly RUS Chestrolaise / SC Chestrolais)

Belgium, province: Luxembourg

17 II 2019 / RUS Chestrolaise - ES Petitvoir-Tournay Reserves 0-7 / Belgian Luxembourg, Reserves' League K

Note 1: RUS Chestrolaise were founded in 1935 (matricule 2233) and have been in the provincial leagues ever since; with basketball being the most popular sport in the town of Neufchâteau, the local football club has been leading a twilight life for decades now. In August 2018, it was announced Chestrolaise would withdraw their first team after the Provincial Cup's group stages, in which all four matches were lost (including a 28-0 drubbing against RUS Ethe-Belmont). This left Chestrolaise's reserves as the only senior representatives of the club in the 2018/2019 season. In 2020, the club started from scratch - though retaining its matricule - using a new name: Sporting Club Chestrolais - and performed the same trick merely one year later, with SC Chestrolais becoming FC Neufchâteau.

Note 2: Chestrolaise's ground is situated in a public park and lacks an official entrance. The first six photographs in the series below were taken on a non-matchday visit in June 2017.
