BELGIUM: R Stade Nivellois (1921-1963) / RCS Nivellois (1963-2011, 2018-2022)

Stade Reine Astrid, Nivelles = Nijvel (RCS Nivellois, formerly R Stade Nivellois)

Belgium, province: Walloon Brabant

17 III 2019 / RCS Nivellois - RAS Saintoise 5-0 / Brabant, ACFF Provincial League 2B (= BE level 7)

Note: initially, the Parc de la Dodaine - renamed Stade Reine Astrid after the death of Belgium's Queen Astrid in 1935 - was home to R Stade Nivellois (matricule 182); this club had a rather successful spell of national league football in the 1940s, climbing to the second level of the Belgian league pyramid. Immediately after Stade Nivellois ceased activities in 1963, JS Baulersoise (foundation: 1954 / matricule 5710), a provincial league club from the nearby village of Baulers moved into the ground, taking on the name CS Nivellois. Between 1996 and 2004, CS Nivellois ('Société Royale' from 2004 onwards) played national league football in Belgium's fourth division. In 2011, the club moved all their football, including the first team, to the Domaine Militaire on Nivelles' eastern fringes. After the Stade Reine Astrid had not been in use for any football purposes for seven years, the club decided to occupy it once more with (solely) their first team in the summer of 2018. In 2022, it was abandoned again in favour of the Domaine Militaire.
