Timeline
  • 1967 / Foundation of FC Edixvelde Nieuwerkerken. The club, obtaining membership of Belgium's FA under matricule 7017, starts its existence in Provincial League 3, at the time the lowest division in East Flanders's provincial league pyramid.
  • 1969 / Upon the introduction of Provincial League 4, FC Edixvelde, due to its poor results in the 1968-69 season, suffers relegation to this newly created division.
  • 1970 / Obtaining the title in Provincial League 4, FC Edixvelde starts a spell of seven uninterrupted years in P3.
  • 1989 / Winning the promotion play-offs in P4, FC Edixvelde manages one last season at Provincial League 3 level.
  • 1999 / The club folds, being absorbed into FC Mere, whose ground is just a stone's throw away at Sint-Bavoweg. For some more years, the premises at Ediksveldestraat remain in use for lower team football and training purposes before being taken over by Levade, a horse school (if you can help me finding the exact year when the pitch at Ediksveldestraat ceased to be in use for football, please contact me).
