Timeline
  • 1938 / Foundation of FC De Vrijheid Herselt (matricule 2683), often abbreviated colloquially to FC Herselt or FCV Herselt. The club plays its home matches at Terrein 't Stap.
  • 1977 / For the first time in club history, FCV Herselt manages to win promotion to Antwerp's Provincial League 1; the spell at the highest provincial level lasts for two seasons.
  • 1988 / FC De Vrijheid Herselt obtains the royal epithet, thus becoming KFC De Vrijheid Herselt.
  • 1995 /  Inauguration of KFCV Herselt's new youth academy at Asbroek, Herselt.
  • 2005 / Inauguration of KFCV Herselt's new clubhouse and main pitch at Asbroek. The one pitch of the youth academy at Asbroek is given up to make way for the local tennis club. The old ground, Terrein 't Stap, is abandoned - nowadays, the location (Kerkeveld, Herselt) is occupied by housing.
  • 2022 / Winning the title in Antwerp's Provincial League 2B, KFC De Vrijheid Herselt manages a return to Provincial League 1 after an absence of 43 years.
  • 2023 / The adventure in Provincial League 1 does not last longer than just one season, as the club finishes dead-last with just 10 points (and only one win in the entire season), suffering relegation into P2 along with KFC Eendracht Zoersel and KVV OG Vorselaar.
  • 2024 / Bottom of the table in P2B, KFC De Vrijheid Herselt suffers its second relegation in a row, dropping back into Provincial League 3 along with K Verbroedering Balen and KSAV Sint-Dimpna
