Netherlands, province: Drenthe
17 VII 2010 / vv Zwartemeer - FC Emmen 0-1 / Friendly
Note 1: prior to moving to the Planeet Zuid ground, vv Zwartemeer/SC Drente played its football at a ground accessible from the Mr. Ovingstraat. Nowadays, this pitch (stripped of its stands) is one of the side pitches of the Planeet sports facilities. The 1970-'71 season was SC Drente's last year as a professional league side, being ejected from playing in the national leagues by the Netherlands' Football Association once and for all in 1971. Adopting its old name 'vv Zwartemeer', the club re-joined the amateur leagues. In 2017, vv Zwartemeer merged with neighbours vv Klazienaveen, forming FC Klazienaveen. Since, both (adjacent) main pitches have remained in use, with first team football being played at FC Klazienaveen's main pitch.
Note 2: In 2010, I wrote an article (in Dutch) about my match visit, focussing on Zwartemeer's past as a professional league side and the rivalry between Klazienaveen and nearby Emmen. For those interested, I have re-published this content below the photo series in this post.
Note 3: below, a combination of photos of two visits: pictures 1, 6-15 = matchday visit, July 2010 / pictures 2-5 & 16 = non-matchday visit, October 2016.
