NETHERLANDS: ssv HBSS (1962-2019)

Sportpark Harga West, Schiedam (ssv HBSS)

Netherlands, province: South Holland

30 XI 2013 / ssv HBSS - vv Hargasport 2-3 / District West II, Saturday League 4D (= NL level 8)

Note: Schiedamse Sportvereniging 'Houdt Braaf Stand' (HBS) saw the daylight in 1926, but were obliged to change their name to HBSS ('Houdt Braaf Stand Schiedam') fourteen years later to avoid confusion with a club from The Hague also called HBS - the current HBS-Craeyenhout. HBSS moved to the western part of Sportpark Harga in November 1962. The clubhouse and main stand were added in the second half of the 1970s. In March 2019, ssv HBSS moved to Sportpark Nieuw Harga, which it shares with SVV and C&FC Hermes-DVS, though each club disposes of its own main pitch. HBSS's former main pitch - meanwhile turned into a 3G - is one of the side pitches of the 'new-look' Harga. The stand and clubhouse are no longer there.

NETHERLANDS: vv Drechtstreek

Sportpark Oostpolder, Papendrecht (vv Drechtstreek)

Netherlands, province: South Holland

23 XI 2013 / vv Drechtstreek - vv Rijsoord 2-4 / Zaterdag 1e klasse C (= NL level 5)

Note: vv Aviolanda saw the daylight in 1946 as the sports club of the Aviolanda aircraft factory; the club was renamed vv Drechtstreek in 1967 following the Aviolanda factory's absorption into the larger Fokker consortium. The club played its football at Zeehavenlaan and various locations in Dordrecht before settling down at Sportpark Slobbengors in October 1965, the other half of which was - and is still - occupied by vv Drechtstreek's town rivals, vv Papendrecht. In 1977, vv Drechtstreek moved to their current ground, Sportpark Oostpolder. Shortly after I visited, a covered stand was added to the main pitch, probably in 2014.
