Simply photos of matchday and stadium visits, mainly in Belgium and the Netherlands, occasionally in Britain or farther afield. Additionally, some historical information about grounds and clubs is provided. Others call it 'groundhopping', whereas I prefer 'football tourism'... but things have run slightly out of control: therefore, this is Extreme Football Tourism.
Guldensporenstadion, Courtray = Kortrijk = Courtrai (KV Kortrijk, formerly Courtrai Sports / Kortrijk Sport) Belgium, province: West Flanders 6 I 2008 / KV Kortrijk - SK Beveren 3-0 / 2e klasse (= BE level 2) 31 X 2018 / KV Kortrijk - KV Red Star Waasland-SK Beveren 2-2 / 1e klasse A (= BE level 1)
Note 1: Courtrai Sports was formed in 1919 as a merger between FC Courtraisien and SC Courtraisien. From 1921 onwards, Courtrai Sports occupied a ground at Meensesteenweg, known nowadays as Guldensporenstadion. In 1971, Kortrijk Sport (the name taken on by Courtrai Sports in '51) merged with Stade Kortrijk, forming KV Kortrijk. Since, first team football has been played at the Guldensporenstadion. Note 2: below, a combination of photos of two visits: pictures 1-16 = non-matchday visit, August 2018 / pictures 17-39 = matchday visit, October 2018. No photos of my first visit in 2008 have been included.
