NETHERLANDS: RKSV Halsteren

Sportpark De Beek Noord, Halsteren (RKSV Halsteren)

Netherlands, province: North Brabant = Noord-Brabant

19 III 2013 / RKSV Halsteren - VC Vlissingen 1-1 - Halsteren wins penalty shoot-out (4-2) / District South I, Regional Cup QF

Note 1 - Excelsior from Halsteren, founded in 1926, changed its name to become Roomsch-Katholieke Voetbalvereeniging (RKVV) Halsteren in 1928, when the club joined the Roman Catholic Federation (RKF) - or more specifically its sub-branch in the southwestern part of the Netherlands, the Roomsch-Katholieke Voetbalbond (RKVB) Breda. In 1935, the club moved from its original ground, Terrein De Ooievaar, to Terrein De Buurt. After the German occupation of the Netherlands in 1940, all other football federations other than the official Netherlands' FA (NVB) were abolished, upon which RKVV Halsteren was placed in District South I's Sunday League 4. With Terrein De Buurt falling victim to housing in the mid-1950s, the club moved into a temporary ground, Terrein De Beek, ultimately settling at the newly laid-out Gemeentelijk Sportpark De Beek in 1958. One secondary online source also mentions 1958 as the year when RKVV Halsteren changed its name to become Rooms-Katholieke Sportvereniging (RKSV) Halsteren, but the reliability is questionable, with another plausible date being 1973, when indoor football was added to the myriad of club activities. In 1968, RKSV Halsteren was joined at Sportpark De Beek by the newly-founded Saturday club VVC '68. Nowadays, the main pitch of RKSV Halsteren is officially known as Veld B, with the pitch of VVC '68 bearing the name Veld E.
