NETHERLANDS: RKSV Achilles (1929-1940) / RKSV Groesbeek (1940-1969) / RKSV Achilles '29 (1969-2019, 2022-)

Sportpark De Heikant, Groesbeek (RKSV Achilles '29, formerly RKSV Achilles / RKSV Groesbeek)

Netherlands, province: Guelders = Gelderland

19 V 2012 / RKSV Achilles '29 - SV Spakenburg 3-0 / Nationwide Non-League Championship final, first leg (= NL level 3)

Note: RKSV Achilles played their football at Sportpark De Heikant from the club's foundation in 1929 onwards. Due to other clubs elsewhere in the country also bearing the name Achilles, the club were forced to change their name in 1940, becoming RKSV Groesbeek - until finally being allowed to revert to their old name with the addition "'29" in 1969. After some particularly successful years around 2010, followed by three years of professional league football in National League 2 (Eerste Divisie) between 2013 and 2017. Due to financial debts, the club suffered heavily after their eventual relegation back into non-league in 2017. Furthermore, deep rifts came to the fore between members of Achilles' presidency, finally resulting in November 2019 in the club being evicted from their ground by the Derks family, historically a major factor in the club and moreover owners of the ground. Since, the club have been denied a return, leaving Sportpark De Heikant unused. For the next three seasons, RKSV Achilles '29 groundshared with their village rivals vv Germania at Sportpark Noord. A return was finally allowed in the summer of 2022, although it remains to be seen for how long the club can stay at their hallowed ground.
