Stadion 'De Wageningse Berg', Wageningen (formerly FC Wageningen)
Netherlands, province: Guelders = Gelderland
27 V 2017 / FC Wageningen XI - Guelders Valley Region XI 0-0 - Wageningen wins penalty shoot-out: 5-4 / Friendly
18 I 2020 / SV Kampong - SV DVS '33 Reserves 7-0 / Friendly
Note 1: FC Wageningen went into administration on May 27th, 1992. The first of the two matches I visited at this ground, was played exactly twenty-five years after that fateful day. To commemorate the demise of FC Wageningen, a selection of former Wageningen football professionals faced a group of ex-players of non-league teams of the Wageningen region. The second encounter I attended, played in January 2020, was a mid-season friendly between two non-league sides not hailing from the Wageningen region.
Note 2: the pictures below were taken on five different visits; when watching closely, one can detect the slow decay of the main stand over the years.
* Photo 3 was taken in August 2008, when I first visited the ground and was guided around by former FC Wageningen players Marcel Broecks and Kees Quint (who passed away in 2009 - just to show how deep his love for the club was: at his funeral, the FC Wageningen club anthem was played);
* Photos 4 to 18 date back to July 2011;
* Photos 19 to 28 were taken in December 2014;
* Photos 1-2 & 29-45: match visit, May 2017;
* Photos 46-59: match visit, January 2020.
