BELGIUM: ES Vaux-lez-Rosières (1938-1951, 1962-1974) / RES Vaux-sur-Sûre (1974-)

Rue de Chestraimont, Vaux-lez-Rosières (RES Vaux-sur-Sûre, formerly ES Vaux-lez-Rosières)

Belgium, province: Luxembourg

14 VIII 2017 / ES Vaux-sur-Sûre - US Marbehan 4-3 / Belgian Luxembourg, Provincial Cup - group stage, group H

Note 1: pictures no. 2-3-4 were taken on a non-matchday, May 2011. Note (by comparing photos 1 & 3) that, in between my two visits, the football club added an R ('Royale') to the abbreviation ES (Entente Sportive); when celebrating their 50th anniversary - which ES Vaux-sur-Sûre did in 2012 -, Belgian clubs usually submit a request to the royal palace in Brussels to be allowed to bear the royal epithet in their name.

Note 2: ES Vaux-lez-Rosières (matricule 2717) ceased all activities in 1951, but eleven years later a new club (matricule 6274) was founded bearing the same name; in 1974, this club changed names following the choice of Vaux-lez-Rosières as the main village and town hall siege of the newly founded community Vaux-sur-Sûre (1971).
