Timeline
  • 1914 / First traces of football in Burdinne, given that a team photo surfaced from this year. This team or club never joined Belgium's Football Association and probably ceased its activities shortly after - as so many Belgian clubs did during World War I.
  • 1928 / Foundation of Entente Burdinne, a first football club in Burdinne to seek affiliation with the Belgian FA, obtaining matricule 1279 upon being accepted as new members.
  • 1937 / Entente Burdinne ceases its activities. The club's matricule is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists in January 1938.
  • 1940 / Traces of a football team in the nearby hamlet of Oteppe. This team or club never joined Belgium's FA and probably folded in the course of World War II.
  • 1941 / Refoundation of Entente Burdinne under a new name, Cercle Sportif (CS) Burdinnois. Upon joining Belgium's FA, the club acquires matricule 2957.
  • 1949 / CS Burdinnois folds, ceasing all activities.
  • 1951 / Refoundation of CS Burdinnois, which obtains matricule 5476 upon being accepted as new FA members on August 4th, 1951. The club's affiliation must go down as one of the shortest in Belgian football history, given that the club's matricule is erased on December 3rd of that same year.
  • 1964 / Foundation of a football club in the nearby hamlet of Marneffe. Racing Club (RC) Marneffe, which obtains matricule 6733, plays its football at a ground situated on the southern side of the crossroads of Rue du Buck and Rue Sainte-Barbe. The club's first chairman is Victor Bertrand.
  • 1968 / Second refoundation of CS Burdinnois under matricule 7220. The new club plays its football on a pitch situated near the Ferme de la Grosse Tour, a farmstead on the northern side of the village.
  • ± 1969 / CS Burdinnois moves its activities to the newly built Stade Communal at Rue Chimpisse, where the club has played its football ever since.
  • 1992 / After an existence of 28 years, RC Marneffe folds, ceasing all its activities. The club's matricule is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists in February 1993. A large swath of the club's remaining membership joins CS Burdinnois.
  • 2018 / Having spent many seasons in the lower reaches of Liège's Provincial League 4A, CS Burdinnois now finishes runners-up in that division, 9 points behind RFC Vyle-Tharoul. In the play-off rounds, the club fails to win promotion.
  • 2019 / Winning the title in Provincial League 4A with a staggering 18 points ahead of Etoile de Faimes B, CS Burdinnois wins promotion to Liège's Provincial League 3.
  • 2020 / In the 2019-20 season, cut short due to the COVID lockdown in March 2020, CS Burdinnois is awarded the P3A title based on 24 matches (of 30) played - with the club having a 3-point advantage over Huccorgne Sports. As such, winning back-to-back promotions, the club suddenly finds itself in Provincial League 2.
