Note: A first football club in the border town of Veldwezelt was founded in 1935, but White Star Veldwezelt (matricule 2284) folded after just four seasons. Their successors, Excelsior Veldwezelt (matricule 3624, founded in 1942) were a regular team in the national third and fourth divisions from 1999 onwards, but they had to cease activities in December 2012 due to severe financial problems. In July 2014, a successor club saw the daylight, FC Veldwezelt (matricule 9613), which started up at the lowest level, Limburg's Provincial League 4.
