Champ des Dames, Salmchâteau (RCS de la Salm, formerly RSS Salmienne)
Belgium, province: Luxembourg
21 IV 2017 / RSS Salmienne - RUS Sartoise 1-1 / Belgian Luxembourg, Provincial League 2C (= BE level 7)
Note 1: photos taken on the occasion of the last game ever of RSS Salmienne, matricule 555 and founded in 1915 under the name Salm-Union - the fouth-oldest football club of Belgian Luxembourg (after RSC Athusien, R Excelsior Virton, and R Standard FC Bouillon, not taking into account the province's oldest club R Jeunesse Arlonaise, the matricule of which was lost in the merger with FC Le Lorrain Arlon in 2010); Salmienne are merging with RCS Vielsalm to form RCS de la Salm. There were emotions all around, as, also on the side of US Sartoise, the manager - also former coach of Salmienne - and goalkeeper disputed their last game ever. Sadly for the latter, he had to concede a goal in the final seconds of the match (cp. photo 15).

Note 2: for the first three seasons after the merger of RSS Salmienne with RCS Vielsalm, the ground at Champ des Dames was used for first team football. Between 2022 and 2022, however, first team football took place at Vielsalm's Stade Hermanmont, but in 2022 Salm's 'fanion' returned to Salmchâteau.
