Belgium, province: Luxembourg = Luxemburg
14 I 2012 / RE Bertrigeoise - R Excelsior Virton 1-2 / National League 3B (= BE level 3)
Note 1: Entente Bertrigeoise saw the daylight in 1945 as a merger between two older clubs, FC Bertrix (matricule 2264, 1935-45) and Union Club Saint-Etienne Bertrix (matricule 3422, 1942-45); unusually, the newly formed club did not retain the matricule of one of one of the predecessors, but obtained a new number, 4267. Entente Bertrigeoise obtained the royal epithet in 1995. In the course of the club's history, there were nineteen seasons of national league football (1952-53, 1954-55, 1990-91, and 2005-18), making RE Bertrigeoise one of the more successful clubs in Belgian Luxembourg. After a thorough renovation of the club's ground in 2005-06, it was renamed after former player and longtime board member Jules Guillaume (1927-2005). In the 2018/19 season, the Stade Jules Guillaume also hosted RES Orgeotoise's home matches while Orgeo's Stade FĂ©lix Lebichot underwent renovation works. As for RE Bertrigeoise, in 2019, one year after relegation into Luxembourg's Provincial Leagues following thirteen consecutive seasons of national league football, the once proud club had to cease all activities due to severe financial problems. Immediately, a successor club was formed, called FC Bertrix and obtaining matricule 9716.
