Sportpark Bernisse - Wethouder Gelderlandlaan, Heenvliet (formerly HVV Bernisse / GHVV '13)

Netherlands, province: South Holland

25 XI 2017 / GHVV '13 - vv NSVV 0-5 / District West II, Saturday League 3D (= NL level 8)

Timeline
  • 1974 / Foundation of a football club in the village of Heenvliet, on the island of Voorne-Putten in the province of South Holland, which takes the name HVV (Heenvlietse Voetbalvereniging) Bernisse – named after the River Bernisse, which divides the twin island of Voorne-Putten. In contrast to the much older vv PFC from the nearby village of Geervliet (founded in 1917), which is non-denominational and plays its football on Sundays, HVV Bernisse is a Protestant (Evangelical) club, which disapproves of sporting activities on the Sabbath. From the outset, the club plays its home matches at Sportpark Bernisse, located on Wethouder Gelderlandlaan.
  • 1975 / HVV Bernisse begins its competitive activities in Saturday Division 3 of the so-called Rotterdamse Voetbalbond (RVB), the Rotterdam sub-association of the Netherlands’ Football Association (KNVB).
  • 1979 / HVV Bernisse wins promotion from RVB Saturday Division 3 to Division 2.
  • 1982 / HVV Bernisse is relegated from RVB Saturday Division 2 back to Division 3.
  • 1984 / HVV Bernisse achieves promotion again to Saturday Division 2 after two years at the lowest level.
  • 1986 / HVV Bernisse wins promotion from RVB Saturday Division 2 to Division 1 for the first time.
  • 1992 / HVV Bernisse wins promotion from RVB Saturday Division 1 to the RVB Saturday Hoofdklasse for the first time. The successful coach is Sietse van der Meer.
  • 1996 / HVV Bernisse is promoted from the RVB Saturday Hoofdklasse, which is abolished that year to make way for Saturday League 5, into District West IV’s Saturday League 4 for the first time.
  • 1997 / Finishing second-from-bottom in District West IV Saturday League 4D, HVV Bernisse is relegated to Saturday League 5, together with bottom club vv Rockanje.
  • 2002 / Finishing in fifth place in District West II Saturday League 5D, HVV Bernisse wins the promotion playoffs and returns to Saturday League 4 after five years.
  • 2003 / Finishing bottom of District West II Saturday League 4D, HVV Bernisse is relegated back to Saturday League 5 after just one season, together with second-last club SC Botlek.
  • 2006 / Runner-up in District West II Saturday League 5D, 4 points behind champions vv Puttershoek, HVV Bernisse wins promotion to Saturday League 4. The successful coach is Peter-Marcel Nauta.
  • 2007 / Finishing bottom of the table in District West II’s Saturday League 4D with coach Ruud Worung, HVV Bernisse descends into Saturday League 5 after just one season, alongside the club in second-last place, vv Bolnes (za).
  • 2009 / Finishing in third place in District West II’s Saturday League 5D, HVV Bernisse attains promotion to Saturday League 4 via the promotion play-offs. The successful coach is Patrick Borsboom.
  • 2011 / Champions in District West II’s Saturday League 4E, 4 points ahead of runner-up vv Rockanje, HVV Bernisse wins promotion to Saturday League 3 for the first time. The successful coach is Peter Hoek.
  • 2012 / Coached by Peter Hoek, HVV Bernisse finishes in second-last place in District West II’s Saturday League 3D, resulting in relegation into Saturday League 4 after just one season, alongside SV Piershil, vv WFB, and bottom club vv Zinkwegse Boys.
  • 2013 / HVV Bernisse merges its youth academy with neighbour club vv PFC from Geervliet, resulting in the foundation of a so-called Samenwerkende Jeugdorganisatie (SJO) or Combined Youth Academy, which is given the name GHVV ’13, i.e. Geervliet-Heenvliet-Voetbalvereniging 2013, with the clear goal of bringing about a fully-fledged merger between the two clubs in due course.
  • 2015 / Runner-up in District West II’s Saturday League 4G, 12 points behind runaway champions vv Rockanje, HVV Bernisse qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which a comprehensive 8-3 aggregate win over RSC Alliance is sufficient to accede to Saturday League 3.
  • 2016 / Finishing bottom of the table in District West II’s Saturday League 3D with coach Ronard (sic!) Venekamp, HVV Bernisse suffers relegation into Saturday League 4 alongside PSV Poortugaal (za) and vv Rockanje. Following the 2015-16 season, three years after the merger of the youth academies of the two clubs, a fully-fledged merger is achieved between vv PFC, which had also suffered relegation (from Sunday League 1 to League 2) and HVV Bernisse, resulting in the foundation of GHVV ’13. For the following four seasons, pending a new sports complex halfway between the two villages, first team football is alternately played at Sportpark Bernisse in Heenvliet (each first half of the season) and Sportpark Toldijk in Geervliet (each second half of the season). Withdrawing from the Sunday pyramid altogether, GHVV ’13 allows its first team to take over the place of HVV Bernisse in Saturday League 4.
  • 2017 / Champions in District West II’s Saturday League 4F, 1 point ahead of closest rivals vv Rockanje, GHVV ’13 wins promotion to Saturday League 3.
  • 2020 / After four years of subdividing club activities between Sportpark Toldijk in Geervliet and Sportpark Bernisse in Heenvliet, GHVV ’13 now moves into its new, purpose-built Sportcomplex Guldeland, on the western outskirts of Geervliet. The old ground of HVV Bernisse is redeveloped into a shopping centre.
