Note: Sporta Hoeleden, founded in 1964, reached Provincial League 1 for the first (and only) time in their history in 2007; at this high level, the club was not able to prove itself sufficiently - resulting in immediate relegation in 2008. In 2010, Sporta Hoeleden merged with VS Kortenaken (matricule 5819: in itself a merger of K Hoger-Op Kortenaken and K Vlug & Vrij Kersbeek, concluded in 2009). Though all football moved to Hoeleden, reference to Sporta was lost as the new club was simply given the name VS Kortenaken (though with Sporta's matricule, 6825). The ground at Hoeleden's Nieuwstraat has been named after Jacques Vandeput (1953-2003), who was a member of Sporta's board from 1981 until his untimely death, twenty-two years later.
