Note 1: Valenciennes FC, founded in 1913, played in the Stade Nungesser (named after World War I ace pilot and adventurer Charles Nungesser) between 1929 and 2011. In July 2011, their new Stade du Hainaut, a mere stone's throw away from Nungesser, was inaugurated. Stade Nungesser was demolished in the early months of 2012.
