NETHERLANDS: avv HVC (1989-)

Sportpark Zielhorst Zuid, Amersfoort (avv HVC = Hollandia-Victoria-Combinatie)

Netherlands, province: Utrecht

23 II 2019 / HVC - BZC '13 1-3 / District West I, Saturday League 4F (= NL level 9)

Note 1: HVC were founded in 1905. When professional league football was finally allowed by the Dutch Football Association in 1955, HVC decided to take the leap from non-league to becoming a professional side, though the club never really made any impact. In 1973, it was decided upon to split up into an amateur section (HVC) and a professional league club, which was henceforth called SC Amersfoort, both of which played their football at Sportpark Birkhoven. SC Amersfoort went bankrupt in December 1982, whilst HVC continued playing at Birkhoven's side pitches until 1989, when they moved to the newly constructed Sportpark Zielhorst. Sportpark Birkhoven has since been taken over by the local field hockey club.
