Stadion 'De Leukens', Overpelt Overpelt-Fabriek (formerly KVV Overpelt / KVV Overpelt-Fabriek / B ground of KVSK United Overpelt-Lommel / K Overpeltse VV)
Belgium, province: Limburg
3 XII 2011 / K Overpeltse VV - FC Esperanza Neerpelt 1-0 / National Division 4C (= BE level 4)
Note 1: K Vlug & Vrij Overpelt, founded in 1937 (and renamed K Vlug & Vrij Overpelt-Fabriek in 1959), merged with KFC Lommel SK in 2003, forming KVSK United Overpelt-Lommel; first team football moved to the stadium at Gestelsedijk in Lommel, whilst the stadium in Overpelt-Fabriek remained in use for lower team football - but for only a couple of more years, until 2006. Meanwhile, K Overpeltse Voetbalvereniging, a lower league club (founded in 1933), had taken up playing at Stadion De Leukens. Finally, in 2014, this K Overpeltse VV merged with FC Esperanza Neerpelt, forming FC Esperanza Pelt. All football moved to Neerpelt's ground; Stadion De Leukens was demolished later in 2014.
Note 2: pictures 1-23 are photos of my match visit in December 2011. Picture 24 (taken in April 2019) shows the location of the former entrance gate (cp. picture 1). The land of the former ground will will be used to extend the local industrial park.
