Note - In 1958, a recreational football club was founded in Etten-Leur, DSV ('De Sportvriend'), named after the eponymous café. Initially, the recreational team engaged in recreational matches against makeshift teams from the wider surroundings of Etten-Leur, playing their home matches on improvised pitches on pastures of local farmers at Sprundelsebaan (Belle) and elsewhere. By 1963, when the club applied for membership of the Netherlands' Football Association (KNVB), DSV had to change its name to vv DSE ('De Sportvriend Etten') due to another club in the NBVB (North Brabant KNVB sub-branch) already using the acronym DSV ('De Snelvoeters' in Sint-Anthonis). After moving to Terrein De Lage Banken (c. 1965) and Terrein Hogeweg (c. 1966), vv DSE settled at Terrein Lage Banken again in 1968, while training sessions continued to take place at Terrein Hogeweg. In 1996, the club settled at the current location.
