Stedelijk Sportstadion - Sint-Jorisstraat, Izegem (formerly KFC Izegem)
Belgium, province: West Flanders
23 XII 2012 / KFC Izegem - KRC Mechelen 1-2 / National League 3A (= BE level 3)
Note: FC Izegem, founded in 1926, moved into the then new Stedelijk Sportstadion in 1953. In 2017, the club merged with Olympic Molensport (OMS) Ingelmunster, forming FC Mandel United Izegem-Ingelmunster. Between 2017 and 2019, first team football of the merger club took place at Ingelmunster's ground at Bollewerpstraat. Meanwhile, in Izegem, an extensive reconstruction of the sports facilities were undertaken. A new football stadium was constructed at the former B pitch of the ground, the so-called Sportcentrum Krekel Zuid, inaugurated in September 2018; the multi-purpose stadium pictured below was stripped of its main stand and terracing. Nowadays, it is used by the local athletics and American football clubs.
