Sportpark Nieuw Varkenoord West, Rotterdam Feijenoord (Sportclub Feyenoord & youth academy of Feyenoord)
Netherlands, province: South Holland = Zuid-Holland
7 IX 2019 / SC Feyenoord - AZSV 0-2 / Zaterdag Hoofdklasse A (= NL level 5)
Note: the western part of Sportpark Varkenoord has been home to Feyenoord's youth academy from 1949 onwards. In 1978, Feyenoord was split in two: the professional side BVO Stichting Feyenoord, and a non-league club, SC Feyenoord, who also use Sportpark Varkenoord West. In 2018/2019, all sports facilities at Varkenoord underwent complete renovation: Feyenoord had a completely new ground constructed to host their main youth games as well as the amateur side's first team matches. The photos below were taken at SC Feyenoord's first home match in these new facilities. The stand and other buildings surrounding the old main pitch, right beside (discernible in pictures 11 & 14 below), were knocked down in the fall of 2019. A photo series of this now defunct ground can be found by clicking this link.
