NETHERLANDS: VTL (19??-1991) / LVV De Sleutels (B) (1991-2003) / vv Leidsche Boys (2003-2020)

Sportpark De Vliet West - veld 1, Leyden = Leiden (vv Leidsche Boys, formerly VTL / LVV De Sleutels - B pitch)

Netherlands, province: South Holland

25 I 2020 / vv Leidsche Boys (za) - SV Overheem 7th Reserves' team 4-1 / District West II, Saturday Reserves' Division 8, group 4

Note: The pitch shown in the photos below used to belong to a football club called VTL (Vlug Trouw Lenig, originally Verenigde Touwfabrieken Leiden - founded in 1930 and called vv VTONA from 1930 to 1931 and vv TONA from 1931 until 1945 - (Verenigde) Touwfabrieken Ontspanning na Arbeid); in 1991, VTL merged with VNL (Voetbalvereniging Nieuw Leiden) to become vv VCL (Vliet Combinatie Leiden) and moved away to the eastern half of Sportpark De Vliet. For the next twelve years, VTL's former premises belonged to their next-door neighbours LVV De Sleutels, who used it as their B pitch. When, in their turn, LVV De Sleutels merged with vv VCL to become vv GHC (Groene Hart Combinatie) and abandoned their ground, both pitches as well as LVV De Sleutels' clubhouse were taken over by vv Leidsche Boys, who had just been forced out of their ground at Boshuizerkade. Since 2017, vv Leidsche Boys have not fielded a team in the regular non-league pyramid, instead preferring to participate in reserves' leagues. In the summer of 2020, the club will cease all activities; the ground is to be knocked down and replaced by an ice hall.
