Note 1: Stedelijk Sportstadion 'De Warande' was constructed between 1946 and 1948. Upon inauguration, it became the home ground of FC Diest - in fact, until 1948, the club, which had absorbed their town rivals Standaard Athletiek Diest in 1946, had been called Hooger Op Diest FC. In 1953, FC Diest acquired the royal epithet, becoming KFC Diest. Twenty-five years later, in 1988, a merger was concluded between KFC Diest and FC Assent, forming K Tesamen Hogerop Diest. Subsequently, Assent's ground was abandoned and all activities moved to Diest. In 2006, the decision was taken to revert to the old name, KFC Diest. Meanwhile, in 2014, in Schaffen, a village belonging to the municipality of Diest, a new football club saw the daylight: Sparta Schaffen (matricule 9618); in fact, they are the successor club of KVV Sparta Schaffen (matricule 407, founded in 1923 and ceasing all activities in 2009) - and as Schaffen's old ground no longer existed, the new Sparta Schaffen embarked on a groundshare with KFC Diest at De Warande. From 2019 onwards, works were underway to create a new ground in Schaffen - the so-called Oosterlindenveld at Pater Daemstraat, which was inaugurated in April 2024, upon which Sparta Schaffen abandoned De Warande. Thereupon, at the request of Diest's municipal authorities, who had to witness how KFC Diest lost their entire youth academy, asked another village club, SK Deurne, to move into Stadion De Warande for their official matches.
