Timeline
  • 1946 / Foundation of VV Lichtaart Sport, which acquires membership of Belgium's Football Association under registration number 4469. It is unclear if the club played its football at Terrein Kattenhagen from the outset.
  • ± 1976 / VV Lichtaart Sport is given the luxury of a training ground at Molenstraat; referred to as Terrein Molenstraat or Terrein Meulenstraat, the extra facilities were a welcome addition, given that the club disposed of just one pitch at Terrein Kattenhagen.
  • 1987 / VV Lichtaart Sport wins promotion to Antwerp's Provincial League 1 for the first time, due to spend ten seasons at that level, subdivided in three different spells (1987-92, 2001-05 & 2006-07).
  • 1996 / Upon the club's fiftieth anniversary, VV Lichtaart Sport acquires the royal epithet, thus officially becoming Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging (KVV) Lichtaart Sport.
  • 2005 / Champions in Antwerp's Provincial League 1, 5 points ahead of closest rivals KFC Katelijne, KVV Lichtaart Sport wins a historic promotion to National Division 4 - destined to hold out at that level for one season only, dropping back into P1 in 2006.
  • 2007 / KVV Lichtaart Sport concludes a merger with VC Tielen (registration number 9326), resulting in the foundation of KFC De Kempen Tielen-Lichtaart (4469), with first team football moving to Tielen's Staf Janssensstadion, and Lichtaart's Terrein Kattenhagen and Sportcentrum Meulenstraat being retained for lower team football and training sessions.
  • ± 2010 / Terrein Kattenhagen in Lichtaart is abandoned - with facilities for tennis club KTC being inaugurated on the site in 2012. Sportcentrum Meulenstraat has remained in use by KFC De Kempen Tielen-Lichtaart for lower team football and training sessions until the present day.
  • ± 2011 / KFC De Kempen Tielen-Lichtaart is joined at Sportcentrum Meulenstraat by VV Molenkring Lichtaart, a smaller club from Lichtaart hitherto having been home at Terrein Dressenstraat. VV Molenkring is given the luxury of two pitches at the back of KFC De Kempen's youth academy ground.
  • 2020 / VV Molenkring Lichtaart folds, ceasing all activities - and that club's two pitches are taken over by KFC De Kempen Tielen-Lichtaart for training purposes.
