Belgium, province: Namur = Namen

27 VIII 2017 / RUS Biesme - Standard Flawinne FC 4-1 / Namur, Provincial League 2A (= BE level 7)

Timeline
  • 1974 / Foundation of a football club in Stave, a village in the Province of Namur, with the new club initially being given the name Real Stave (registration number 8113) - but changing its name to become Jeunesse Sportive (JS) Stave after only two months at the behest of the Belgian Football Association, which does not allow clubs to adorn themselves with the royal epithet without them having passed the cape of their fiftieth anniversary. It is unclear if, yet probable that, JS Stave played its football on the pitch situated at Rue des Marchets from the outset.
  • 1990 / After an existence of sixteen years in Namur's provincial divisions, JS Stave concludes a merger with Molignée Sport Maredret from nearby Ermeton-sur-Biert, resulting in the foundation of US Molignée-Stave, which retains Molignée Sport's registration number 3267; JS Stave's number 8113 is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists. Henceforth, first team football is played at Rue Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert, with the pitch at Rue des Marchets in Stave being retained for lower team football and training sessions.
  • 1991 / As the club celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 1991, it may have been in this year that US Molignée-Stave took on the royal epithet, thus becoming Royale Union Sportive (RUS) Molignée-Stave.
  • 2006 / RUS Molignée-Stave changes its name to become RUS Molignée Sport.
  • 2009 / RUS Molignée Sport concludes a merger with R Wallonia Sporting Club (RWSC) Mettet, resulting in the foundation of US Mettet-Molignée, with Molignée Sport's registration number 3267 being retained and Mettet's number 297 being erased from the Belgian FA's official lists. Henceforth, first team football is played at Rue Germensau in Ermeton-sur-Biert, with the pitch at Rue Saint-Job in Mettet being retained for lower team football and training sessions. The merger may well have coincided with the pitch at Rue des Marchets in Stave being abandoned.
  • 2014 / RUS Biesme is given permission by Mettet's municipal authorities to make use of the ground in Stave as the club's training pitch.
  • 2017 / A thorough renovation of RUS Biesme's Stade de la Tourette is undertaken, involving, among other things, the main pitch being laid out anew with a synthetic surface. As a result, RUS Biesme plays most of its first team football in the 2017-18 season on the pitch at Rue des Marchets in Stave.
  • 2018 / In 2018 or possibly somewhat later, RUS Biesme abandons the pitch in Stave, with the premises being taken over by a dog agility club.
