Timeline

• 1943 / Foundation of Sportkring (SK) Wichelen (matricule 4020). 
• 1953 / Winning their league, SK Wichelen accedes to Provincial League 2 for the first time.
• 1964 / Following two relegations (1958, 1963), pushing the club into Provincial League 4, the club withdraws its first team.
• 1965 / SK Wichelen folds, ceasing all activities.
• 1969 / A new SK Wichelen sees the daylight; this successor club obtains matricule 7452, starting up in East Flanders' Provincial League 4 in the summer of 1970.
• 1991 / After 21 consecutive years in P4, the club wins the title in Provincial League 4E.
• 1993 / A second title in two years sees SK Wichelen acceding to Provincial League 2. The spell at this level lasts no longer than one season.
•  1997 / Following two relegations, SK Wichelen finds itself in Provincial League 4. In the following two decades, the club alternates spells in P4 and P3.
• 2021 / SK Wichelen abandons their ground at Doornweg in favour of the newly built Sportpark De Cirkel in Schellebelle (built on the premises of the old ground of SOS Schellebelle), where it groundshares with KVV Schelde Serskamp-Schellebelle.
