16 VIII 2018 / KVV Schelde Serskamp-Schellebelle - Jong Zulte 2-4 / East-Flanders, Provincial Cup R2

Timeline
  • 1959 / Foundation of a football club in the village of Serskamp, which takes on the name Eendracht Serskamp, obtaining registration number 6230 upon being accepted as new Belgian FA member. The club, which starts its life in East Flanders’ Provincial League 3, probably settled at Terrein Bruin Kruis already at from the outset in 1959.
  • 1966 / Champions in Provincial League 3B, Eendracht Serskamp accedes to East Flanders’ Provincial League 2 for the first time.
  • 1971 / Having dropped back into P3 after four years in 1970, Eendracht Serskamp now wins the title in P3D to return to Provincial League 2 at the first instance.
  • 1972 / In the best season in club history, Eendracht Serskamp finishes in fifth place in East Flanders’ Provincial League 2A.
  • 1974 / Finishing in fifteenth place in P2B, Eendracht Serskamp drops back into Provincial League 3.
  • 1978 / Finishing second-last in P3D, Eendracht Serskamp descends into Provincial League 4 for the first time in club history.
  • 1986 / Runners-up in P4F, Eendracht Serskamp wins promotion to Provincial League 3, probably after a round of play-offs.
  • 1993 / Having dropped back into Provincial League 4 the previous year, Eendracht Serskamp bounces back immediately by winning the promotion play-offs after a third-place finish in P4C. The stay in Provincial League 3 is a short one, though, with relegation following instantly in 1994.
  • 1997 / Champions in East Flanders’ Provincial League 4B, Eendracht Serskamp manages a return to P3 after an absence of three years.
  • 1999 / Champions in P3C, Eendracht Serskamp wins promotion to Provincial League 2 for the second and last time in club history. The stay at that level does not last longer than one season, though, with relegation following immediately in 2000.
  • 2008 / In its last season as an independent club, Eendracht Serskamp finishes in fifteenth place in P3B, thus suffering relegation to Provincial League 4. Following the 2007-08 season, though, the club concludes a merger with SOS Schellebelle KV, resulting in the foundation of Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging (KVV) Schelde Serskamp-Schellebelle, with Schellebelle’s registration number 4022 being retained. Henceforth, first team football is played at Terrein Bruin Kruis in Serskamp, with the new club’s youth academy settling at Terrein Hoekstraat in Schellebelle. Due to SOS Schellebelle KV also having suffered relegation in its last season, dropping back from P2 to P3, the new merger club starts its life in East Flanders’ Provincial League 3.
  • 2011 / Finishing in third place in East Flanders’ Provincial League 3B, KVV Schelde qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is eliminated in R1 by VC Nazareth-Eke (4-3).
  • 2012 / Finishing in third place in P3B, KVV Schelde qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club edges past HRS Haasdonk in R1 (2-2 and penalty shoot-out) before suffering elimination at the hands of KVC Nokere-Kruishoutem in R2 (7-1).
  • 2013 / Runners-up in P3B, 6 points behind champions KFC Heusden Sport, KVV Schelde qualifies for the promotion play-offs; having drawn a bye in R1, the club is eliminated in R2 by FC Edeboys (0-1).
  • 2014 / Finishing in fifth place in P3B, KVV Schelde qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club defeats KSK Erembodegem in R1 (2-3) before being eliminated in R2 by HRS Haasdonk (1-3).
  • 2015 / Runners-up in P3B, 3 points behind champions FC Edeboys, KVV Schelde qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club defeats KFC Nederename in R1 (1-6) before being eliminated in R2 by SK Nevele (1-4).
  • 2016 / Champions in P3B, 6 points ahead of closest followers KVV Sint-Denijssport, KVV Schelde finally achieves the promotion to Provincial League 2 which had eluded the club in the previous seasons.
  • 2017 / Finishing in fourteenth place in P2C, KVV Schelde drops back into P3 after just one season, along with KVVE Massemen and FC Dynamo Klein-Gent Beervelde.
  • 2020 / Works get underway at the construction of a new sports park for KVV Schelde Serskamp-Schellebelle and neighbour club SK Wichelen on the location of Terrein Hoekstraat in Schellebelle. Archaeological excavations, undertaken before the building works get underway, prove that the site was once a Bronze Age circular grave (2nd millennium B.C.) – giving the ground its future name, Sportpark De Cirkel.
  • 2021 / Abandoning Terrein Bruin Kruis in Serskamp, KVV Schelde settles at the newly built Sportpark De Cirkel in Schellebelle, where it has groundshared with SK Wichelen since.
  • 2022 / Terrein Bruin Kruis, having remained in use for one more year for training sessions by KVV Schelde, is abandoned once and for all.

    1. Thank you! I was told your new-look Schellebelle ground will have a run track around the main pitch, which will somewhat change the atmosphere I'm afraid - but let's wait and see.
