Timeline
- 1938 / Foundation of a football club in Schellebelle, which is given the name Eendracht Schellebelle and obtains membership of Belgium’s Football Association under registration number 4022. It is unclear if Eendracht Schellebelle played its football at Terrein Kloosterland, the later home ground of SOS Schellebelle.
- 1943 / After an existence of five years, Eendracht Schellebelle is absorbed into another club, Studenten-Oud-Studenten (SOS) Schellebelle, which wasn’t an FA member until that time, but is accepted as a new affiliate under Eendracht’s registration number 4022. Yet again, it is unclear if SOS Schellebelle played its football at Terrein Kloosterland from the outset.
- 1944 / SOS Schellebelle starts its life in East Flanders’ Provincial League 3D.
- 1946 / Champions in P3B, SOS Schellebelle accedes to East Flanders’ Regional League 2 (2e Gewestelijke).
- 1950 / Finishing in fourteenth place in Regional League 2A, SOS Schellebelle drops back into Provincial League 3.
- ± 1966 / Moving away from Terrein Kloosterland, SOS Schellebelle settles at the newly laid-out Terrein Hoekstraat.
- 1972 / After 22 consecutive seasons in P3, SOS Schellebelle descends into Provincial League 4 for the first time in club history following a thirteenth-place finish in P3D.
- 1974 / Runners-up in P4B, SOS Schellebelle wins promotion to Provincial League 3, possibly after a round of play-offs.
- 1981 / Having dropped back into P4 the previous year, SOS Schellebelle now manages a return to Provincial League 3 following a runner-up finish in P4C, probably followed by a round of promotion play-offs.
- 1985 / Champions in P3D, SOS Schellebelle accedes to East Flanders’ Provincial League 2 for the first time in club history.
- 1988 / Finishing in fourteenth place in Provincial League 2B, SOS Schellebelle drops back into P3 after two seasons.
- 1994 / SOS Schellebelle acquires the royal epithet, officially changing its name to become Studenten-Oud-Studenten (SOS) Schellebelle Koninklijke Vereniging (KV).
- 1996 / Runners-up in P3E, SOS Schellebelle KV wins promotion to Provincial League 2 for the second time, probably after a round of play-offs.
- 1997 / In the best season in club history, SOS Schellebelle KV finishes in sixth place in Provincial League 2A.
- 2001 / Second-from-bottom in P2C, SOS Schellebelle KV drops back into Provincial League 3 after five years.
- 2003 / Champions in P3C, SOS Schellebelle KV manages a return to Provincial League 2. The stay at that level does not last longer than one season, though, with relegation following instantly in 2004.
- 2005 / Champions in P3B, SOS Schellebelle KV manages a return to Provincial League 2.
- 2008 / In its last season as an independent club, SOS Schellebelle KV finishes in last place in P2C, thus suffering relegation to Provincial League 3. Following the 2007-08, the club concludes a merger with Eendracht Serskamp, resulting in the foundation of Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging (KVV) Schelde Serskamp-Schellebelle, with Schellebelle’s registration number 4022 being retained. First team football moves to Serskamp’s Terrein Bruin Kruis, while Terrein Hoekstraat in Schellebelle is retained for lower team football and training sessions.
- 2020 / Terrein Hoekstraat is knocked down to make way for the new-to-be built Sportpark De Cirkel, future home ground of KVV Schelde Serskamp-Schellebelle.
- 2021 / Inauguration of Sportpark De Cirkel, of which the B pitch is situated on top of the former main pitch of Terrein Hoekstraat. KVV Schelde as well as neighbour club SK Wichelen move their first team football to the new park.
