Ekerstraat, Kalken (formerly SK Kalken / B ground of KVV Laarne-Kalken)
Belgium, province: East-Flanders
April 2019 / no match visited
Note: SK Kalken were founded as a Saturday league team, participating in local competitions not affiliated to Belgium's Football Association. Initially, the club groundshared with KFC Hoger-Op Kalken in their Jozef Plaetinckstadion. In 1975, SK Kalken joined the Belgian FA. After having been in the provincial leagues for 32 years, the club merged with FC Eendracht Laarne, forming KVV Laarne Kalken. A completely new ground, Veldmeers, was built specifically for the merger club by the Laarne municipality. For probably not longer than one season, the ground at Ekerstraat remained in use for lower team football and training purposes. Meanwhile, the ground has been taken over by a local dog agility training club.
