Herman Vanderpoortenstadion = 't Lisp, Lier = Lierre (Lierse Kempenzonen & B ground of R Antwerp FC, formerly K Lierse SK)
Belgium, province: Antwerp
8 XI 2008 / K Lierse SK - Sint-Truidense VV 3-0 / Tweede Klasse (= BE level 2)
22 V 2019 / Lierse Kempenzonen - R Excelsior Virton 0-4 / First Amateur League - promotion play-off (= BE level 3)
Note 1: Liersche SK, founded in 1906 (becoming K Liersche SK in 1931 and, after a spelling change, K Lierse SK in 1948), played at the Herman Vanderpoortenstadion (nicknamed "'t Lisp") between 1925 and the club's demise in 2018. After Lierse SK went into administration, the ground was taken over by KFC Oosterzonen Oosterwijk, who moved in and changed their name to become Lierse Kempenzonen; apart from the first team football, all other teams of the club have continued playing at Oosterzonen's ground at Bovemansstraat. In 2022, Lierse Kempenzonen were joined at their ground by the reserves' team of R Antwerp FC upon their entering the national football pyramid.
Note 2: below, a compilation of photographs of two different visits: pictures 1-6 = non-matchday visit, July 2010 / pictures 7-27 = match visit, May 2019. No photos have been included of my first match visit in November 2008. Pictures 24-26 in the series below show the celebrations of players and supporters of Excelsior Virton, who, thanks to their victory in Lier, clinched promotion to Eerste Klasse B, the second tier of Belgian football (May 2019).
